The Day After Thanksgiving!

All dressed up for Thanksgiving dinner, eating a roll...

Decorating the Christmas tree...

We had a quiet Thanksgiving at home! We woke up Thursday morning, and turned on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was a holiday tradition to watch the parade each year at my house growing up and this was the first year Isabelle was interested in it. She loved the parade and watched almost the entire thing. She loved the music and the cartoon balloons!

We cooked a nice Thanksgiving dinner together as a family, Isabelle enjoyed helping set the table. When I told her it was time to wash our hands for dinner she insisted on changing her clothes. (She was still in her jammies, so was I) I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea if we actually got dressed and she wanted to wear a dress. I thought she was too cute, I think she knew it was a special dinner...who knows. Her favorite part about Thanksgiving dinner was the rolls I think she ate 3. She wasn't interested in anything else, she wanted chicken.

This morning we got up early and went shopping, Freddie had his eye on some of the sales. This is the only time of year he is willing to go shopping. He got a couple of things he wanted and we found a cool gift for Isabelle. We bought her a kids digital camera. It is made for toddlers, so if they drop it it wont break. It is pink and even has a screen for her to view her pictures. We can't wait to give it to her, she is always wanting to take pictures with our camera but we wont let her, she will even go so far as to tell us we need to wear the strap around our neck and to keep both hands on the camera. Too cute!

Then this afternoon we got all the decorations out and started decorating the house. Isabelle was so excited and couldn't wait for us to get the lights on. I bought lots of kid friendly decorations for her so she could enjoy the decorating also. Freddie couldn't give the ornaments to her fast enough. When the tree was all decorated, she went up to the ornaments and touched them and figured out that she could see herself in them, she was cracking up, making faces and laughing. Freddie and I got a kick out of it! She took her nap willingly today, she was so tired from all the excitement.
We hope that you all had a wonderful and Thanksgiving!

Halloween In Virginia

Isabelle and I just got back from a trip to Virginia Beach, Virginia. We had a GREAT time! My friend from elementary school, Theresa lives out there. We arrived the day before Halloween and Theresa had pumpkins for the kids to carve... Isabelle and Stella (age 3) had fun poking holes in the pumpkins and after they were finished, Theresa and I actually carved the pumpkins. The kids were excited and had a lot of fun!

On Halloween night, we were having so much fun that we looked out the window and realized kids were already trick or treating so we hurried and got the girls ready. They had a blast! Isabelle was a little unsure at first of the point. But soon she figured it out and was SUPER excited. She looked in her bag and proudly exclaimed "I got candy Mama!" She would take out every piece after it was given to her and show me and then run and show Theresa. She was so excited and the more she got the bigger her smile got! We just went around the block and her bag was filled to the brim. When we got back to the house we let the girls pick a treat and Isabelle picked a lollipop. After the girls were in bed Theresa and I sorted through the candy and it reminded us of when we were kids. We had fun taking out the "bad" ones for ourselves.

We enjoyed visiting the beaches and sites in Virginia, Theresa even took us on a short drive to North Carolina.

Isabelle really enjoyed playing with Stella and Calysta. They played so well together. I really enjoyed seeing my friend, I had really missed her. I was also surprised at how well Isabelle did traveling and sleeping away from home. She was such a good girl and I am so proud of her. When we arrived home at the airport, Freddie was waiting for us and smiling from ear to ear, he missed us and we missed him, the first thing Isabelle told was all about the airplanes. She was super spoiled by the flight crew on the airplanes. We were so blessed to have such a great trip!

Now for the pictures, I know there are a lot but I know the family really enjoys seeing them....
