New House

As soon as we returned from Haiti we began unpacking.  While we were away many of our friends came together and painted the inside of our house.  It was one of the greatest gifts we have ever received.  Our friend painted the kitchen, living room, bonus room and hallway as well as painted the baseboards and washed all of the blinds in the house. When we came home all that was left to do was to paint the bedrooms and unpack.  We are so thankful for our friends who spent their time helping paint our new house.

Wadlay's room had to be completed quickly for our new home study.

Wadlay

On May 2nd we boarded a red eye flight to Haiti.  We were exhausted from moving but filled with excitement at the same time.  The three flights felt like they took forever.  When we arrived in Haiti we drove the hour drive from the airport to the hotel we would be staying at for the next 2 weeks and waited for our social worker to arrive to take us to meet Wadlay. Beverly our social worker took us to the orphanage where we met Wadlay.  He walked in and came right up to me and kissed me and climbed in my lap. He was quiet and shy.  He buried his head in my arms and fell asleep for a while.  We did get to play with him for a little while before we had to leave for the night.  We returned each day in the mornings and stayed until after he ate his dinner.  He warmed up to us quickly and each day we fell more in love with Wadlay.  He has an infectious smile and an adorable laugh.  We learned that he loves toy cars and chocolate candy.  He never says no to food and he could eat as many mangoes as he can catch.  Our two weeks were magical with Wadlay but we missed our girls.  We knew we had to leave to allow the adoption process to move forward.  It was hard to leave for all three of us, but we look forward to the day Wadlay can come home with us soon.
