Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving celebrations started with Pre Thanksgiving with Grandma Jenny and the Gallardo Family.  Yummy food, crafts and lots of laughter.

On Thanksgiving day we participated in the Elk Grove Turkey Trot 5K and Kids Fun Run.  We all enjoyed the Turkey Trot and would love to make it a family tradition.

In the afternoon we had a "Friendsgiving"  with friends we call family.
We ate a delicious meal and played games.
So much to be Thankful for!

Haiti

I had a wonderful time again in Haiti.  Each time I go I fall more in love with the people of Haiti, my heart just can't get enough of these precious children.  This trip was amazing in so many ways.  I hope to have time soon to elaborate more on my trip in a future blog post.  Until then, here is a video that my friend Ryan put together of our time in Haiti.

Soccer Fun

I've probably said this a thousand times, but we love soccer season!  The girls love playing and we love watching them.  This is Calista's first year playing.  She made her very first goal on October 19th and has gotten to play forward with her best friend Gia.  They make a good team those two because they are very competitive.  Calista also has gotten to play goalie a couple of times this season and she really likes it.

Isabelle loves soccer and gives it everything she has.  Her favorite position is forward but she also plays defender and even though it isn't her favorite position she does her best to never let a ball past her.  This year the coaches have told her several times how impressed they are with her and are always amazed to see her fired up for the games.  She has learned a lot this year and plays whatever position assigned to her well.  She always gives it 100% and we are so proud of both of our soccer girls.

Grandma and Grandpa G and Auntie Sarah came for a game this season and the girls happen to be playing at the same time at the same park, on different fields.  We kind of found a spot in the middle and would rotate back and forth trying not to miss anything.  The girls loved having extra cheerleaders there!
I didn't get a great picture but you can see them on the right of this photo.

Halloween

The weekend before Halloween we went to a Halloween Party.  We all had fun dressing up.  Isabelle was and American Girl Doll in the Box.  Calista was Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's, Mommy was a Flapper and Daddy was a Pirate.

Halloween day the girls couldn't wait to get dressed up again.    Calista really enjoyed being Holly Golightly.
Both girl's costumes were a hit!
I made my skeleton shirt, it's fun to dress up for the kids.

We headed over to the church's Harvest Festivals for some games and dinner...

Found some old friends, Danyka and Whitney.

Isabelle LOVES the fishing game, she goes straight to it every year.

Issy and her BFF Belin.  Belin was a movie star.
Calista and her kindergarten buddy Bethany.

After the Harvest Festival we joined our friends the Gemignani's for some Trick Or Treating.  Trevor was a Zombie Hunter.

Then it was time to head home and hit their last house.  It's a tradition that the girls stop at our house last for a special treat from Mommy.  We were out most of the night but we did get a couple trick or treaters when we got home which the girls LOVED.

The night before Halloween the girls and Daddy carved pumpkins while I was at bible study.  Daddy traced them and they each craved them.  Isabelle's is on the left and she needed a bit of help but did pretty good considering how hard the patter was she picked.  Calista's is in the middle and she did most of it on her own, she needed a little help with the eyes and the mouth but overall she did a fabulous job. Daddy's is on the right.
