Christmas Day

Our Christmas day started with lots of excitement.  The girls were bouncing up and down and begging to go downstairs.  Excited to see that Santa came.

I love the excitement of Calista jumping up and down after seeing her stocking filled.
I always grab a pic before any presents are open.  Then the girls decide together who gets to open the first gift up.
Isabelle graciously let her sister open the first gift.  Calista was excited that Santa granted her wish for My Little Pony set.

Next up was Isabelle.  She was beyond excited to open up art supplies.
Thanks Santa, you did great!
Daddy bought the girls their first gift from Tiffany's.  The each received a crystal ornament for their ornament collection.  They loved their gifts.  I love that they will be hanging them on their Christmas tree for years to come.

Mommy got a little Tiffany surprise too.
Isabelle got another surprise, she got her very own Kindle.
We loved our Christmas morning.  Yummy breakfast and time together relaxing and making memories.

In the evening we went over to the Adamson's house for a delicious dinner and some fun with friends.

The Night Before Christmas...

On Christmas Eve we drove to the Bay Area early.  We  made a quick stop in Fremont to spend time with Julie and her family.  I love how our kids are close in age and always play together well.  It was a short visit but filled my heart so much.  Then it was off to Grandma Nadine's for Christmas dinner with the Kofler family.  Yummy food, great conversation and time together as a family.  At one point I looked over and Calista was sitting on Grandma Nadine's lap singing together, it totally melted my heart.  So thankful for the memories we made this Christmas Eve.

We drove home that evening, called Pops to hear the Night Before Christmas story and the girls quickly put out their cookies and Coke a Cola for Santa and off to bed they went.

Traditions...

We have a tradition to decorate cookies for Santa.  This year we bought Ninjabread cookies for Daddy.  He loved them and so did the girls.  I think we will be making Ninjabread cookies every year.  Auntie Jennipher joined us for a day of baking and decorating.  One of my favorite traditions.

Reno

We made a quick trip to Reno to Visit Nana and Pops and Grammy and Gramps before Christmas.  I failed in taking pictures other than our little adventure outside in the left over snow in Nana and Pop's front yard.  We had fun, building a snowman and having a snowball fight.

Accelerated Reading

Isabelle earned her Accelerated Reader lanyard!  Her school has a program where kids read books and take tests on the comprehension of the books and earn points based on the level of the book.  Once they get 25 points they earn their lanyard. If they wear their lanyard on certain days they get homework passes.  After they reach the 25 points they get to pick from and even bigger list of books in the AR program. It's kind of a big deal at school and Isabelle didn't even begin to try for it until this year.  With a little help from Mom she earned almost all 25 points in the first trimester of school.  Reading is starting to be fun for her.  We are so proud of her!!
