Insta New Year's

On New Year's Eve our friends hosted a fun party.  We had lots of yummy appetizers and played a lot of dance central.  We all had a fun night ringing in the New Year!

Dance Central!
A fun idea I found on pintrest.  Milk with a candy coated rim.  The kids loved it!

The guys playing scrabble on their ipad and iphones.   The ipad had the game on it and the phones have their tiles on it.  Technology is amazing!

Dolls

When Isabelle got her doll for Christmas, Calista quickly became jealous of all the fun sister was having and wanted a doll of her own.  Grandma and Grandpa G got the girls gift cards for Christmas and Calista picked out a doll of her own at the store and still had plenty left on her gift card for another day.  Her doll is the same size as Isabelle's doll and Issy has been kind enough to share her doll clothes with her sister. They have spent hours playing pretend with their new dolls.  They take them everywhere.  Every night we spend time brushing their hair and getting all the girls in their jammies.  I tried for the last two days sewing outfits for their dolls and although they aren't the best quality I was able to put together a few new outfits for them.  Isabelle asked if I could make a matching outfit for the girls and their dolls and I did my best, I am not the best at sewing but luckily the girls didn't notice the flaws and they loved the new doll clothes to play with.  I have enjoyed playing with them and listening in on them as they play nicely together. They sure do have wonderful imaginations!

Christmas!

Christmas morning the girls woke up around 7:30 and were jumping up and down excited to see if Santa really came!  They could immediately tell from the top of the stairs that he didn't forget to stop at our house!  They quickly rushed down and did and inspection to see if he ate all the cookies and filled their stockings.  Isabelle insists that she heard Santa's sleigh bells in the middle of the night.  Both Girls opened their gifts from Santa right away and to their delight they got exactly what they had wished for!  Isabelle got her American Girl Doll Kanani and Calista got her Dora The Explorer Guitar.  They were happy with just those items alone and begged to take them out of the boxes to start playing.  It took them a few minutes before they remembered there were more presents under the tree for them.  We took our time opening the remaining gifts and enjoyed letting the girls play with their new loot.  We had our traditional cinnamon rolls for breakfast and played some more with their new toys.  After lunch we opened our stockings and got ready for our company.  Grandma and Grandpa G came in the afternoon along with Freddie's Uncle John and Aunt Pilar and their two boys Michael and Matthew.  The girls enjoyed getting to play with their cousins and the house was loud with laughter all evening.  The grown ups enjoyed visiting and Grandma G and I got dinner ready.    Dinner was great but the company was even better.  We had a wonderful day.  At the end of the day both Freddie and I agreed that our hearts were full and we are so very blessed!  We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas as well!

A Barbie doll house!!  This Doll house has already gotten lots of hours of play in just a few short days... Lots of imaginative play for this little girl!

Daddy's gift to Mommy, homemade pot holders.  I LOVE that he made them himself!  I think Daddy has a talent in sewing!
Stocking time.
Calista was quite as a mouse as she unwrapped her treasures.
