What Little Girls Are Made Of...

Sugar and spice
and everything nice
that's what little girls are made of

Sunshine and rainbows
and ribbons for hair bows
that's what little girls are made of

Tea parties, laces
and baby doll faces
that's what little girls are made of

My friend Debbie and I thought it would be fun to take our girls out to play in the mustard fields. Debbie had matching dresses for the big girls and I happen to have one that worked for Calista, she even did their hair. They loved getting dolled up and playing in the flowers, and I of course enjoyed following them around with my camera and capturing their adventures!

Have you had a hug today?

Studies show that human contact through hugs decreases blood pressure and reduces stress, which cuts the risk of heart disease. For healthy living it's recommended that you get 3 hugs a day! Have you had your 3 hugs today? If not, come on over, I know two little girls who give the best hugs ever! Not to mention, Freddie gives a great bear hug too!

Jesus In My Heart

This morning Isabelle and I were reading a story about Easter and she had a lot of questions. She asked me if Jesus lived in my heart and I said yes. She asked me if He lived in her heart and I said when you ask Him to live in your heart He will. She asked me why Jesus died on the cross and I told her that God sent His Son to come to earth and save us from our sins. He died and rose again and now he sits in heaven with God and he wants to live in our hearts. She didn't ask anymore questions, but you could see she was still thinking about it.

Later on in the morning I was folding clothes and she was helping me and she said, "Mommy, I love Jesus and I want Jesus in my heart." I told her that Jesus loves her and He wants to live in her heart too. We called Freddie at work and Isabelle told him that she wanted Jesus to live in her heart and why. Freddie and I prayed with her and she prayed and asked God to live in her heart. It was so sweet and so special.

Safe In Your Daddy's Arms

I often say my girls are the luckiest girls in the world, because they have an awesome Daddy!! After a long day of work the first thing he does everyday, after kissing me of course, is play with his girls. The laughter that fills the house when the three of them get together is so contagious you can't help but laugh yourself even if you are in the next room. The weather is getting warmer each day and our favorite thing to do together, is to be together outside in our beautiful backyard. So last night I grabbed my camera and captured a few photos of my three favorite people in the world laughing and playing! I adore the top picture, it is so genuine of all three of them.

Daddy being funny!

Spreading The Love...

We managed to make it most of the season without a major cold circulating through our home... Earlier this week Calista came down with a cold and it hit her hard. She was grumpy and sleepy and just down right sad. She took 2-3 naps a day including sleeping thorough the night and to top it off, she has 3 molars coming in at one time. Poor baby! She has been extra cuddly and I have to admit, I love that part! Daddy got sick on Thursday, sick enough to come home from work, and if you know Freddie that is pretty sick! He is just starting to feel better today. I came down with is Saturday night and woke up this morning feeling worse, but with the combination of good medicine and the beautiful sunshine today I am feel pretty good right now. Isabelle hasn't gotten it yet, and has been an angel, so helpful to all of us and so understanding.

Otter Pops have been Calista's best friend, it is the only thing that is making her smile these past few days.
Sleepy Calista
I can't even begin to describe how precious Isabelle has been the last few days, she has been so loving and so helpful. Drawing us pictures to make us feel better and entertaining herself when we are resting... LOVE her!

Teddy Bear Portraits - Preschool

Isabelle had her photos taken for school last week. Her teacher told me when I picked her up that the photographer thought she clearly knew what she was doing because she was a natural. I bought just one sheet since I am a photographer, but I couldn't let them shred this cute photo! The school also gave each family a tote bag with each child's photo on it. I love it!
