Pirate Party

In March we went to a pirate themed Birthday party for our friend Eathan. We all enjoyed getting dressed up like pirates. It took Calista a few days to warm up to the idea, but she turned around just the day before the party and refused to take her pirate dress off for a few days after the party.

The decorations were incredible, no detail left out! An amazing bridge built over the pool, a barn turned into a pub. Pirate booty everywhere and even a ship mast that could be seen a few blocks away. We had a great time celebrating Eathan!

Here are some photos from the party.

Isabelle

Isabelle is off track this month. She is in year round school, so she gets the whole month of March off. Before going off track she got her report card for the second trimester and it looked great, the only thing the teacher thinks she needs improvement on is her handwriting. We have been doing a lot of practicing during her break. Her teacher said she is great at math. She can also count to 100.

Isabelle loves to write cards for her friends. She is constantly asking us how to spell things for her.

She loves crafts, just like her mama. She loves to color, paint, cut paper and glue. I can't tell you how many times a day she asks me for more paper.

She is very proud of all of her artwork and has a very hard time letting go when we have to make room for new artwork.

She is sensitive.

She is extremely shy around people she doesn't know well.

She is still a very picky eater, but getting better at trying new things.

She is a great big sister, even though she can be bossy, she cares so much for Calista and often melts my heart how she puts her first at times.

She is caring, always thinking of others. One day this week she thought I might be thirsty and brought me a glass of water.

She continues to have an amazing imagination, she is constantly entertaining herself in her own little world.

She is a great helper, she loves to have jobs so she can earn money.

Nothing makes her happier than your undivided attention. She loves to just talk and share things with you.

Calista

Calista is 2 and 1/2 now and she just amazes us all the time. When we came back from Hawaii, I swore she was talking more and clearer than before we had left. It's crazy how quickly our babies turn in to children.

The other day she came up to me and said, "Mommy do you want this money?" She hands me a five dollar bill. I asked, "Where did you get that?" She says, "Your wallet."

Several times a day she will just come up and say, "I love you so much!" It seriously melts our heart.

She recently said in the right context, "No way Jose!" I laughed so hard! She says it all the time now and always in the right context, which makes me wonder where she picked it up. But really who cares, it's just so darn cute.

She also says cute things like, Can I tell you a secret? The secret is always, I love you.

When getting ready for bed she often says, will you cuddle me for a couple of days.

Her favorite show and the only show she ever wants to watch is Go Diego Go. (He is the cousin of Dora The Explorer.)

She recently became obsessed and I mean OBSESSED with horses and ponies.

She loves to play pretend with her sister and can carry on in what ever imaginative world they create no problem these days.

She is very stubborn, she knows what she wants and will throw a fit to get her way. Like pulling her sister's hair to get a toy.

She defiantly is sugar and spice, and we love every part of her!

The Rainy Day Fun Continues...

This evening as we were making dinner we could hear the hail pounding the roof outside. We all ran to the windows and watched for a minute then grabbed our rain gear and went outside to play. I thought the kids wouldn't enjoy the hail, but they loved it and it was coming down hard. They eventually dumped the umbrellas and literally enjoyed soaking up the rain.

Puddle jumping is so much fun. Calista LOVED it and at one point said, "I'm SO happy!" My heart melted, in that moment, I was so happy too! I will always remember her joy in that moment!

Who Said Rainy Days Can't Be Fun?

In our world rain drops are more fun when they are in color...

...and flying in the sky is an everyday occurrence!

Curious Georgia Photo Shoot

Last week on our only sunny day, I had the privilege once again to photograph Curious Georgia's Spring/Summer 2011 collection. I am only posting photos of my girls in this post but you can see the rest of the collection and the other adorable models by clicking on the link to the Curious Georgia store on Etsy. http://www.etsy.com/shop/curiousgeorgia

We went to Old Sacramento for this shoot. There were 7 adorable models, including Isabelle and Calista. The kids all had a great time. The clothes are so cute, and the girls all clearly love being in them.

At our last photos shoot in the Fall Isabelle and Charlotte, the designer's daughter connected and this time they picked up right where they left off, it was so cute. I think we are going to need to schedule a playdate soon!

Heather is now making these adorable reverse knot dresses, I absolutely love Calista's dress, it's so cute!

On the way home we stopped at a mustard field and grabbed a few photos of our girls in the clothes. We took them out to a mustard field the week before for our Easter photos (Coming Soon!) and the girls loved running in the field again.
I love this photo of Isabelle!

Hula Girls

We brought the girls back hula skirts from Hawaii, they love them! The cutest thing is to watch them hula dance. SO. STINKING. CUTE!

Isabelle is all about looking JUST like a hula girl....

Calista is real serious about her moves....

Sewing

Isabelle is off track for a month, so we have been trying to find things to keep the girls busy. Yesterday it was raining, so we couldn't go to the park or take her out to ride her bike. I took the kids to the craft store and we found a fun craft kit to teach kids how to sew. Isabelle really wanted it. It comes with everything to complete two projects. We did the heart first. The heart is felt and has precut dots along the edge and a plastic needle. I taught her how to thread a needle with the yarn and how to do a couple stitches and she did the rest. She loved it! I didn't think to take photos until after we were done with the heart, but I grabbed a couple of her sewing the cat. She really enjoyed it and I think it is a great way for her to get an idea of what sewing is like.
