Things I Want To Remember...

I was sitting on the swing outside.  She was playing on the grass in her brand new swim suit..  As I looked across the yard at her I began thinking about all the little things I don't want to forget.  So I run in the house and grab my camera and freeze this moment that I will never live again.

I want to remember piggie tails…oh how I want to remember these! She likes to call her two piggies teddy bear hair.

I want to remember how she begs for a lemon to lick and makes this cute little sour face.

You would think she didn't like it but really she can't get enough.

I want to remember what she was like as a little girl.
Super snugly , A great eater, happy all the time, imaginative, loving and silly.

Insta Friday

The last two weeks in cell phone pics...

I co teach the Freshman girls bible study at our church and last week one of my girls had an art show at her school. Isabelle and I went to her show.  Hannah is amazing.  Wish I had taken a better photo some of her pieces.
On April 10th I participated in the day without shoes. Sponsored by Toms shoes.   It was a cold wet day but a great experience.  By 8PM I was ready to wash my feet and put some socks on.  My feet were tired, sore, dirty and cold.  At one point during the day after going to the grocery store I had to wash them they were so gross.  We are truly blessed not to have to worry about not having shoes.   Many kids all over the globe suffer from several different diseases that are completely preventable if they had shoes.

(The girls wore shoes but wanted to be in the picture with me.)

My mini me.  Calista and I have a shirt that is very similar and every time I wear it she wants to also!
Shopping at Trader Joe's the girls LOVE their mini shopping carts!

Cookie butter... it sounds odd but trust me it is AMAZING!!  Go, no run to Trader Joe's and buy whatever they have left. (They can't keep it on the shelves.)  And bring a spoon you'll want to dig right into it.  Your welcome!

It's that time of year again!!  So exciting.  Freddie even built another planter box so we can plant more yummy goodness this year!!
Our poor little girls got sick this week.  Issy missed 2 days of school and Calista missed school too.  You know your kid is sick when she voluntarily takes a nap during the day.  Poor Baby!

By the time Issy was feeling better Calista was down for the count.  All she wanted to do yesterday was cuddle.  Sign me up!!  I miss those days.   But it did break our hearts how sick she was.  Not a peep out of her all day.

Oven roasted tomatoes and yummy risotto for dinner, the weather has been so amazing we ate outside last night.  Our favorite!

Feeling a lot better today but still too sick for school, she was not a happy camper.

Insta Field Trip

Today I got to go with Issy and her first grade class on a field trip to the food processing center.  The place where they make all the lunches for her school.  We got to start the field trip by taste testing two different foods that they are thinking about serving at the school next year.  After each tasting the kids got to give the food a rating.  Issy really enjoyed the rating part of the taste testing.   Then it was off to learn about the new food guide.  Did anyone else know that they have done away with the food pyramid?  At the end of the trip we put on hairnets, which the kids totally lost it laughing and then took a tour of the facility.  We watched them slice what they called turkey and I called mystery meat cause it didn't look like turkey to me.  They were making a huge pot of spaghetti sauce.  The pot was so big you could put at least 4 first graders in it and they wouldn't be able to see out of it.  Then the kids got fresh baked cookies from the bakery. Overall it was a pretty fun field trip.  We got back to the school just in time for lunch!

Thanks to my sweet friend Rose who watched Calista for me so I could go on the field trip.  I appreciate you Rose!

Easter Part 3

Sunday afternoon our friends joined us for Easter dinner and an egg hunt.  Dinner was amazing with everyone bringing their favorite dishes and the kids had a fun time hunting for eggs.

 Ready, set, GO!

So the Dad's thought it would be fun to dump a few eggs in a pile and see which one noticed first, Abby ran straight to it!!

 HAPPY EASTER!

Easter Part 2

Easter morning the girls woke up and excitedly jumped into bed with us.  Eager for us to get up and let them go explore downstairs.  They enjoyed hunting for eggs that the Easter Bunny left for them and looking through the treats in their Easter baskets.  We had bunny shaped cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then got dressed in their Easter dresses.  The Easter bunny brought them matching doll dresses too.  We all then hopped into the car and stopped by the mustard field right next to our house to snap a few pictures and then off to Starbucks for Daddy's Easter treat!

Easter Part 1

Saturday night we went to the Easter service at our church.  We've never gone on Saturday before but I think after going for the first time this weekend, we may make this a new tradition.  It was nice to be able to  still go to church and wake up Sunday morning and not rush out the door.  Our friend Jennipher joined us for Church and came over afterwards for dinner and  to help with dying eggs.  The girls just love Jenn and we love and appreciate her too.  She helped me stuff the eggs and baskets after the girls were asleep and helped me get the house ready for our Easter lunch.  Thanks Jenn!   Freddie enjoyed hiding the eggs in the house and spent the day cleaning up the backyard and getting our garden ready.  Thanks honey!

After church we picked Calista up from children's church and she had a little stone in her hand.  She was so excited to share what she learned!  We loved hearing her tell us all about Jesus.  As soon as we got in the car I asked her to repeat the story so I could video her.  She totally melted my heart.

This girls went right to bed when we told them and Calsita even told us to hurry to bed too, she didn't want the Easter Bunny to miss our house because we were still up.

Insta Friday

Earlier in March Issy and I put together this Easter garden....
It started to sprout grass about 10 days later.  SO fun!

I made this sign for our room over spring break. I love this quote.

Finally found these Haitian made Easter decorations I learned about earlier this year at our local West Elm.
I filled the basket with some fun Easter eggs we decorated with glitter at the Adamson's house.
On April first I made the girls bacon an eggs for breakfast... April fool's style.  Chocolate, pretzels and an M&M.  They thought it was pretty funny!
After school special treat this week, a s'more bar!
This morning we woke up to find that our house had been egged.  Our entire front lawn covered in Easter eggs and a note on the door.  What a treat!

Since Issy has a summer Birthday I have made an Easter treat for her to bring to school each year to share with her class.  Last night we made white and milk chocolate bunny's on a stick.
