I'm So Proud Of You!!!!

Freddie and Issy with her flowers....

Freddie interviewed for the supervisor position at his work yesterday. He wasn't the front runner candidate because he has only been at the County for 10 months and is 2 steps below the supervisor position, but he was qualified for the position and ranked high on the test, so he got an interview. He thought that it would be good practice to interview even though there were others more likely to get the position. He prepared for over two weeks, with mock interviews and lots of studying.

This afternoon when he came home from work he walked in the door and surprised both Isabelle and I with our own set of flowers. I knew immediately that he got the job and went running into his arms with excitement. I didn't expect him to get it cause he prepared me that he wouldn't, but I am not surprised either. Freddie has an amazing work ethic and is very qualified and prepared for this job!

Isabelle was super excited about her flowers and thanked him many times for them. She could sense our excitement as we talked and she said " I so proud of you Daddy!" We say that to her often so it doesn't surprise me that she knows the phrase. It is just cute that she knew when to use it!

I am so proud of him also and we are so excited!

Daddy's Girl...

Isabelle LOVES her Daddy and he LOVES her! They have a very special bond that is so much fun to watch. Every morning she wakes up and asks me "Daddy go to work last morning?" and everyday when he comes home from work, she drops whatever she is doing to run to him!! Then she will ask him "You go to work last morning Daddy?" They have special games that they play, where he will fly her around the house like her favorite Sesame Street character Abby Cadabby. He works with her on her numbers and ABC's just as hard as I do. She is interested in everything he is doing, she will go outside and watch him work in the yard or on a car. If he is on the computer she pretends to be doing exactly what he is doing. They are two of my very favorite people in the whole world!
Last night there was a Lunar Eclipes and Freddie loves those things, he was super excited and we watched it from our backyard together. Isabelle was just as excited as he was about it! I listened as he explained to her in detail of what was happening. They melt my heart every time I watch them interact together!

The Funny Things That Isabelle Said This Week....

This week I tried to explain a little more to Isabelle about the baby. I told her that the baby is growing in my tummy and that one day I will go to the hospital and have the baby and then come home with him or her. She touched my tummy and that was the end of that.... Later that day we were headed to Costco, Isabelle knows the way to Costco we are there a couple times a week. On the way she saw Costco and asked "Mommy, we go to Costco to buy a car seat for your tummy?" I thought that was too cute! We weren't going to buy a car seat for the baby so it was even cuter that she thought that up all on her own. Tonight she was sitting on the potty I was explaining to her like I have a hundred times about the feeling she might get when she has to go is a warning sign that she needs to go potty. I asked her if she felt that feeling and she said "No, I feel the baby in my tummy and she is sleeping!" Both Freddie and I were totally cracking up!

Another evening this week right before Isabelle was going to bed she randomly asked "The baby going to sleep in my other bed, not my big girl bed?" She was very concerned, You can totally tell she is thinking a lot about this baby.

Freddie and I have been working on her letters and numbers. She can recognize her letters up to "I" and her numbers up to 13. She learned her last name this week and says her full name often. She will say "I is for Isabelle Gallardo!" It is cute to hear her say Gallardo! Often times when she is trying to get out attention she will say our first names.

And right before bed tonight she asked if we could go to a baseball game. We don't watch baseball or ever talk about baseball. So it totally gets me as to how she figured that out. I told Freddie I need to go write all this down before I forget it. She has had a lot of random and funny things to say this week! We love it!

A Heart Story

**I know I have posted a lot this week, make sure to scroll down to catch everything we have been up to!***

Isabelle and I had the privilege of going with our friends Dan, Andrea and Drew to deliver heart balloons to all the children at UC Davis Med Center today. 4 years ago Drew was born on February 9th and spent his first Valentine's Day in the hospital. He was born with a CHD, specifically interrupted aortic arch, VSD, hypoplastsic aortic root and DiGeorge Syndrome. He had two open-heart surgeries by the time he was four months old and has a long road ahead of him.

Each year the Himmelberger Family goes to the hospital where Drew was born and deliver balloons to all the kids in the hospital on Valentine's Day. They are an amazing family and Drew is such a brave little boy. Andrea is an incredible Mom and friend. I have learned so much from her and I am constantly encouraged by her, her strength and her love for her family. I can't do justice in explaining thier story nor can I even begin explaining how incredible I think Andrea and her family are. I just wanted to share with you what an amazing experience we had and what an amazing family the Himmelbergers are!

You can read more of thier story at http://himmelberger.blogspot.com/

Disney Princesses

(Click on the picture to see it bigger)

Last night we took Isabelle to see Disney Princesses on Ice with her friend Shaelyn and her Mom. We had dinner at In and Out Burger and the girls just couldn't wait to see the princesses! They scarfed their hamburgers faster than ever and begged to go see Cinderella.

When we got there we walked around and took pictures with Cinderella, unfortunately they didn't have the real princesses walking around like advertised so the girls were a little sad. We got a souvenir for the girls and made our way to our seats. Isabelle was getting kind of cranky it was her bedtime, so I was beginning to worry how she would do during the show. Once the show started she was happy as a clam and got super excited as each character came out. She loved Tinkerbelle and squealed with excitement every time she came out. Cinderella was last to come out at the end of the show and both girls were excited to see her. But Isabelle's favorite part was when Prince Phillip from Sleeping Beauty fought the dragon. That is all she talked about the entire way home and even when she woke up this morning. I was a little worried it might scare her but she wanted to watch only that part in the movie this morning when she woke up.

We didn't get the greatest pictures, we weren't sure you could bring a camera to the event so we smuggled one in, only to find out that they didn't care at this type of event.

Tonight we are taking Isabelle to see The Disney Princesses On Ice with some friends. She can't wait, we told her last night when she went to bed that we were going and this morning she woke up shouting "I going to see CINDERELLA!" I can't wait either!

The Latest On All Of Us...

Isabelle has discovered changing her clothes 10 times a day... literally! She can dress herself pretty well now. So randomly she will go in her dresser and pick out things to wear and come out in a new outfit. We also bought her a new bed last week. Still toddler size but it is no longer the crib that was converted to a toddler bed. She loves it. It has made going to bed more fun for her and less of a fight for us. The night we got the bed she wanted to go to sleep right away. Everyday since we got the bed, when we get her ready for bedtime, she asks if she gets to sleep in her big girl bed. Her room looks so different now with her new bed.

Posing after dressing herself...

First night in her new bed...she was so excited!

I felt the baby kick for the first time today. I am 14 weeks. It was exciting and reassuring that the baby is doing fine. We have another appointment next week to check on the babies growth. I checked Isabelle's baby book and I felt her kick at 16 weeks. So it is again reassuring that I felt the baby kick now, and from what I have heard from mom's who have multiple pregnancies it is normal the feel the baby kick sooner, since you know what to expect. With that being said my stomach is also growing a little bit sooner than with Isabelle. Here is my little bump...

Freddie was excited he won a super bowl poll he bet on for the winning score of the game. We enjoyed watching the game together. Isabelle had fun cheering with her Daddy. She would yell when he yelled and jump up and down when he got excited. It was cute! Freddie has several appointments in the next week for his health. He was diagnosed with pre-diabetes and also has hypertension. Both things can be managed with good eating habits, exercise and a few extra doctor visits. Since the New Year he has started eating healthy and excercising regularly and has lost 30lbs. I am so proud of him!

Pretty In PINK!

Isabelle LOVES pink, even strangers know this is true. She expresses her love for pink a hundred times a day.
Isabelle do you want lunch? "I want a pink one!"
Isabelle do you want to get dressed? " I want to wear pink!"
Isabelle do you want to take a nap? "In my pink bed!"
You can imagine her response to any question and I am totally not kidding!

The other day I asked her if we could have a photo shoot with all of her pink things and she was so excited. She ran around the house gathering everything pink. Rain boots, stuffed toys, blankets etc. We had so much fun! My Mom often reminds me that I too had the same love for pink. I like pink now but as a kid I wanted everything pink too.

This was what she picked out to wear...tutu, tights, boa, and rain boots. I added the bows.
